Race for Life celebrates sweet 16
Cancer Research UK milestone as Race for Life celebrates it’s
16th birthday
Race for Life – now the UK’s largest women-only fundraising
event series – began as one event with 680 participants at
Battersea Park in 1994.
Since then, an incredible 4.7 million women across the UK have
taken part in Race for Life events and
raised over £327 million to fund Cancer Research UK’s life-saving
work.
In 2010 we hope over 700,000 women will take part and raise over
£60 million to continue our groundbreaking research all over the UK.
With over Race for Life 230 events taking place around the
country this summer, there's bound to be an
event near you. Take part in your nearest event to
walk, jog or run 5k and raise money to
help beat cancer.
