Race for Life rules

General

1. Race for Life is a women-only event. Cancer Research UK has the right to ask male participants to withdraw from the event.

2. Race for Life 2010 entry fee is non-transferable and non-refundable. Any participant wishing to transfer from one event to another can do so for an additional £5.00 to cover the cost of the production and distribution of their new Race Pack, administration fees and postage and packaging.

3. Race for Life is unable to accept any entries on the day. Due to health and safety reasons we need to make sure that events do not go over capacity. We also need to ensure we have contact details for all participants in the case of an emergency.

4. By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation in Race for Life to be used to publicise Race for Life and Cancer Research UK generally, including television broadcasts. By registering an under 16yr old as an additional entrant, the primary entrant confirms the under 16yr old’s parent or legal guardian is happy for any footage or photographs taken during their participation in Race for Life to be used to publicise Race for Life and Cancer Research UK generally, including television broadcasts. No personal details (including their name) of an under 16yr old participant will be used in any publicity materials.

5. All participants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of their official Race for Life number, which must be worn on the front of shirts during the event. To help Cancer Research UK save money, please also remember to bring your safety pins!

6. In the case of an emergency Cancer Research UK may use the details provided by you to contact your home or office.

7. Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in Race for Life should take medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the event.

8. All participants enter this event entirely at their own risk and Cancer Research UK shall not be liable for any injury or loss that might occur as a result of their participation other than as a result of Cancer Research UK’s negligence.

9. Cancer Research UK takes all reasonable steps to minimise the risk of injury to participants during fundraising events. There is a stringent risk assessment process in place for each and every event which aims to minimise or eliminate the risk to everyone taking part. However, by taking part in this event, you acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond our control that can lead to unforeseen risks. If you have any concerns or queries please contact us before agreeing to take part in this event.

Children aged five and over must be female and do have to be registered.

12. Race for Life is a non-competitive, non UK Athletics (UKA) endorsed walk, jog or run.
