Voice: Race for Life is the largest women only national fundraising event in the UK.

Participant: It's such a collective atmosphere. You just run with everyone and everyone is so amazing and happy and it's such a wonderful experience.

Vision: The start of the race

Voice: Over 735,000 women come together to simply walk, jog or run 5 kilometers.

Participant: I am walking for my dad who has survived for twelve years with cancer.

Participant: I'm doing in memory of my mum. I lost my mum last year.

Vision: Scientists at work in a lab

Voice: Today, more people are beating cancer than ever before. In fact, survival rates have doubled over the last 30 years.

Scientist: About 20 years when I began to do medicine we cured about the half of the children with leukaemia. We're now at 80 per cent.

Voice: That’s why it's so important that we have support from people like you. So come on and join us, get involved because with your support this year we can bring hope to people who are affected by cancer.

Participant: It's buzzing, electric. Everyone is so excited.

Participant: I don’t know why I’ve never done it before and I’d love to do it again.
