I’m Maggie Cook and we are here for Race for Life.

Cheers

Race for Life, for me, is going out, with the gang, and raising money for this wonderful charity.

The first time I did it, we were about an hour and twenty minutes because we were chatting as we went along.

It’s quite emotional when you look at the plaques on the people’s backs and you read some of the messages on there.

There is no one out there that has not been affected by cancer in some way.

There are smiles on everybody’s faces, everyone’s joining in the exercises - even if you aren’t fit they’re not hard, strenuous exercises. It’s just fun.

There weren’t just people running, there were people strolling, there were people chatting, there were old people, young people. Huge families really.

Even if they haven’t been affected by cancer and they’re doing it because they think it’s a wonderful cause, it makes you feel quite humble that you’ve got all those women together to promote Cancer Research UK.

Women of all ages, of all shapes, of all sizes can undertake the Race for Life for Cancer Research UK.

You can do as I and my friends and family do every year, we have a stroll in the park and have a chat and have a catch up and have fun!

Walk, jog or run 5k to help beat cancer – choose your event.
